Obtained: Through Goodreads First Reads As soon as I read the first two pages of Nightwoods, I automatically knew that it was a book that is deep, mysterious, suspenseful, and just sucks you right in into the story. Nightwoods gave me tons of conflicting emotions, mainly with the abandoned children. I think the children are justified with how they act. If I saw my mother killed by her boyfriend, someone I would have trusted at least a little, I would be deeply scarred too. From then on, I would trust no one. Charles Frazier's writing is also simply beautiful and full of imagery. The only thing I'm not too fond of is his dialogue - they don't use quotation marks and almost always ends with he/she said.
