To Beguile a Beast (Legend of the Four Soldiers Series #3)

To Beguile a Beast - Elizabeth Hoyt My Rating: 3.0 To Beguile A Beast wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. It's probably because I had such high expectations of it since I love books about wounded men, but To Beguile A Beast didn't meet my standards. I love the idea of the beauty and the beast concept, but the theme didn't really stand out to me in the novel. I felt really sorry for Alistair Munroe. After getting his scars by torture and seeing how people react to them (a lady fainting in public? Really?), he keeps thinking that no one would ever want him, so he keeps herself in isolation. Alistair accepts himself for who he is and doesn't try to hide it. It takes a very strong person to do that and I admire him for that. I love the bond Alistair has with Jaime and Abigail, Helen's children. Their bond is so strong that Alistair was willing to kill for them. I've read so many cases of men hating their wife's children from a previous marriage because they were not his children, but for Alistair, it was not the case. He treats Jaime and Abigail like they were his kids. I hope Helen and Alistair manage to have their own children. They really deserve it. ohdamnbooks: to beguile a beast
